Early version, the app evolves thanks to your feedback

What people ask us most.

Is Curiocité really free?

Yes, entirely. No subscription, no in-app purchase, no advertising and no account to create: you download the app and you walk.

Do I need an internet connection to explore Lille with Curiocité?

No. A single download on first launch installs the places, their stories, their images and the base map onto your phone. After that the app works entirely offline: no network, no roaming, no data needed. Only access to your GPS position is essential.

How many places are there, and which neighbourhoods do they cover?

More than 80 places cover Vieux-Lille and the centre of Lille: the well-known monuments, but also the inner courtyards, façades and side streets that tourist circuits walk past without stopping.

Which languages is the app available in?

The interface and the stories exist in French, English and Dutch. You pick your language on first launch and can change it later from your profile.

How does a place get discovered?

Places appear on the map under a secret name. Walk towards the one that intrigues you: as soon as you're close, it reveals itself and its story opens. No button to press.

Do I have to follow a set route?

No. No guided route, no order to respect, no checklist. You walk where you like and the city reveals itself as you go — which is exactly what makes a visit stick.

How long does it take to find everything?

There's no set duration. Some people do a handful of places over a lunch break, others spend a whole weekend at it. With more than 80 places, there's always something left for next time.

Is it suitable for children?

Yes. The principle — hunting down a place hidden behind a secret name and finding it on foot — works very well with a family, and the stories are written to be read out loud.

Your next trip to Lille deserves Curiocité.
